European Strategic Safety Initiative

 

 

ECAST and EGAST communities have decided to discontinue their activities after 10 years of operations.

ECAST closed the initiative on 22 March, keeping the community and reallocating the functions to the CAGs, MAB TeBs and SAB STeBs, SPT Groups and SPN.
And on 20 April, EGAST closed the initiative, keeping the community and reallocating the functions to the CAGs, MAB TeB GA and SAB SteB GA, SPT Groups and SPN.
EHEST Core Team will serve as the basis to establish the SAB SteB Helicopter.

The European Strategic Safety Initiative (ESSI) was an aviation safety partnership between EASA, other regulators and the industry. ESSI’s objective was to further enhance safety for citizens in Europe and worldwide through safety analysis, implementation of cost effective action plans, and coordination with other safety initiatives worldwide. More detailed information can be found in the ESSI presentation or in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). ESSI was launched in 2006 by EASA as a ten year programme and has three pillars:
